There is no single definition of what cultural safety is - instead, there is an understanding that cultural safety takes into account the worldview and life experience of the person receiving care and acknowledges that the relationship between the health practitioner and the person can influence health care processes and outcomes. At its core, cultural safety is about protecting and maintaining human dignity.
